Although they are now almost forgotten oases of peace in the busy city center of The Hague, a quarter of the population of The Hague still lived in a courtyard 150 years ago. With more than 100 hidden courtyards, The Hague is truly a 'court city'. During this city walk (every Tuesday and Thursday at 13:30) a guide from the Guild of The Hague will take you along the most famous and most beautiful courtyards. Hidden spots, hard to see from the street. Tickets are available via the website for €8,- per person. The walkingtour is only spoken in Dutch.

The antique and book market on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague is a true mecca for lovers of antiques, curiosities, old prints and books, paintings and art objects. Enjoy the countless stalls full of antiques and books with cozy terraces around the market on the Lange Voorhout. You can visit the market every Thursday and Sunday from 10:00 till 18:00 hrs.

On Wednesday mornings, HM King Willem-Alexander regularly receives new ambassadors who come to present their letters of credence at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. The audience includes a ceremony that can be followed from the Palacegarden. The new ambassador arrives by state coach early in the morning, escorted by horsemen from the Royal Netherlands Mounted Police.

Often inconspicuously hidden in the landscape, the Dutch coast is still full of bunkers from the Second World War. Saturday 28 May is Bunker Day. Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., the bunkers of the Atlantic Wall from Zeeland to the Wadden Islands will be jointly opened to the public. The concrete colossi often have limited access. Sometimes sunk in the sand or taken over by nature, they still tell the story of the German occupation. During guided tours, walks and short lectures, the visitor discovers how soldiers lived in the bunkers and what influence the Atlantic Wall had on the many coastal inhabitants.

From 3 to 6 June, foodfestival Haagse Wereldhapjes will be ready to treat The Hague to a few festive and gastronomic days. The Whitsun weekend is all about good food, drinks, music, entertainment and above all fun! It is already the 5th year of the life of Haagse Wereld Hapjes.

After almost three years of radio silence, it is finally time for the 40th edition of Parkpop this year and that at a new location. On 12 June, the Malieveld will be renamed the festival heart of Parkpop. In a new, intimate festival setting, festival visitors can enjoy more than 30 acts on various stages and the unique festival atmosphere that makes Parkpop so popular among its visitors.

Royal Christmas Fair in The Hague is one of the biggest Christmas markets in the Netherlands. Twinkling lights and familiar Christmas carols at the romantic Lange Voorhout are bound to get you in the ultimate Christmas mood. Atrium City Hall has been organizing the Christmas-Sing-Along in the Atrium of City Hall in The Hague for several years now. A one-time Christmas choir of 300 people is being put together, which, after rehearsing three times, can give a concert to 1,100 visitors. Last year it was canceled due to the corona measures, but don't worry because Gregor Bak and Francis van Broekhuizen have good news! This year the Christmas Sing-Along will take place on December 18th, where it is again possible to sing all the cheerful Christmas songs together.
